About

author photo color

Jeff Lilley’s non-fiction writing covers the intersection of historic events and people. Recent history – 20thand 21stcenturies — and remarkable people. He describes people’s lives in which there is usually something sacred going on — not in a religious sense but in a humanistic sense. His writing contains moments or realizations when protagonists understand that they are living for something bigger than themselves, that the human condition, invariably full of suffering, binds them closer to others in ways that humble and foster understanding. So far, his nonfiction books have been situated in Asia, where he grew up. He’s the author of Have the Mountains Fallen? and China Hands. Check out his pandemic writing here about a friend he found in Ukraine after 25 years.
