Jeff Lilley writes about resilient individuals and the historic events which drove them to make a difference. He is the author of Have the Mountains Fallen? Two Journeys of Loss and Redemption in the Cold War 
and China Hands: Nine Decades of Adventure, Espionage and Diplomacy in Asia.
His books have over 20,000 copies in print and e-books and have been translated into Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Russian and the Kyrgyz language. His most recent book, Have the Mountains Fallen?, tells a story of the Cold War from the other side, meaning from inside the Soviet Union. 
A former journalist and educator, Lilley works in the field of international development. He grew up in Asia and has lived in Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Jordan. When in the US, he lives with his wife and sons in Silver Spring, MD.
